Oxfordshire's Artweeks is On

Each May Oxfordshire holds its unique arts festival over a three-week span of total creativity. Artists and crafting artisans throughout the county open their studios and workshops to display their completed works and works in progress too; you might never get to see their work at any other time or indeed elsewhere so please follow the event and pick out venues you might want to visit during this period if total creativity.
At our workshop we've planned an open house on two specific Saturdays, Saturday 6th May and then next Saturday 13th, between 11 am and 3 pm. I hope you can pay us a visit–I will be around both days to talk and demonstrate the work we do. Also, as an appetiser, we will have the pieces we made through 2017 for Woodworking Masterclasses on display too. The newest piece, my laptop desk will be there, and I will be finishing up the drawings for this during the week between the Saturdays.

We will not be open on either Sunday of Artweeks.
But it's not just me here either. Other creative woodworkers share the space at Sylva Wood Centre, furniture makers and carvers like my direct neighbours Chris Boreham, Neil Scott, Simon Clements and Rodas Irving who all work wood very differently and make their living from working wood. Other crafts and short courses include custom upholstery with Mary Cowdry. There will be photography and art work too together with the hist of the whole event Sylva Wood Centre and Foundation where you can see the new forest planted earlier this year and which some of you indeed sponsored with us.

This will be a good opportunity to meet two of the behind the scenes colleagues, Eloise, our newest addition to the team, and Mark who manages the office and is always willing to input his point of view to make things come together. Ellie masterfully creates our videos and as a skilled videographer/editor has impacted everyone with her willingness to ever strive for the very best. She is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Mark will be there on the following Saturday, and he will tell you more about the amazing things he does, keeping track of our book and DVD stock, managing accounts that keep us moving forward and much more.
This is the address we currently use for our workshop:
